There are many reasons families access SWAN Post-permanency services. Workers must be aware of those reasons in order to work effectively with the family system. For some, expectations may not match the reality, leading to post-adoption depression. In all instances, teaching the family to access and evaluate community resources may help strengthen the family and help prevent a dissolution.
